John Roc

John Roc, born in Bakerbrook, N. B. Canada, started playing music at age nine. First playing French Canadian style fiddle tunes with Simon St. Pierre and singing with mom and dad in the family band, he was later introduced to Mac Wiseman’s style of singing and knew Bluegrass was the kind of music he wanted to play. John has performed from the Canadian Maritimes to central Florida with bands like Mac McHale & The Old Time Radio Gang, Lost Wages, Stoney Point, Shady Creek, Bluegrass Amendment and many others. Currently John Roc is working with Southern Rail & The Radio Gang and fills in where needed with other Bluegrass groups from New England. John’s weapon of choice is the #23 Paganoni mandolin.
