On The Air

"Rhode Island Country Horizons Bluegrass Band of the Year"

What happens when you mix hot licks, tight vocals, and strong rhythm with a fresh new song? You get FREEWHEELIN’s debut single “Caroline in Carolina”.

“Caroline in Carolina”, penned by Mark Brinkman and  Mike Evans  is the tale of true love left behind in search of a better life; all the time wishing you were back at home. The makings of a classic bluegrass tune!

FREEWHEELIN’ is an up and coming new band based in the Northeast. Listen to Earle Oliver on vocals and with his lead/rhythm guitar and you’ll swear he just walked out of the heart of Bluegrass Country. John Roc adds the solid mandolin chop, lead, and backup work on his #23 Paganoni. Larry Neu keeps the song moving with his stirring banjo break and backup. Holding it all together is Harry Cook on bass.

The guys of FREEWHEELIN’ hope you enjoy this first offering from their upcoming release, “She’s In His Dreams”. Give it a spin and you’ll be convinced FREEWHEELIN’ is BLUEGRASS

  "Prime Cuts of Bluegrass" says

Freewheelin' has done an exceptional job on every aspect of
"Caroline In Carolina".  It's got a great bluegrass sound and beat and is very well
performed both vocally and instrumentally.

"This is Bluegrass"

"I'm not usually too fond of bluegrass bands from the North, but you guys seem to have it all.  Solid lead and good harmony backed with some very creative instrumentation.  Y'all done good.  Can't wait to hear the rest of the album."

I just have to share this......

I  had the opportunity to go to the Sandown (NH) Town Hall last night to hear some great bluegrass music. What better to do on a rainy, 90 degree Saturday  night. And I must say I had quite a surprise. While all three bands, Taylor River Band, American Flyerand Freewheelin' were wonderful, I have to brag a bit on Freewheelin'

Can I just say WOW !!! That's really all I can utter out of my mouth even today after having seen this band last night. Freewheelin' debuted there, and they were amazing !! Often times I hear a band and say "Well, maybe that wasn't their best choice in songs", but not once did I think that about any in their song selection. They had some original songs, and some classics - timing was great, vocals were great, instrumentation, stage presence ...  I could go on and on .... but I won't. What I will suggest is that you go see them when they are playing at a concert or festival near you because they are well worth it.
